Pagosa Springs artists are invited to submit an original design that will be reprinted on reusable grocery bags and distributed for free to residents (while supplies last). The initiative aims to bring awareness to a new State of Colorado law that requires most large retailers to charge customers a 10-cent fee on paper or plastic bags used during checkout. To avoid the fee, shoppers can bring their own reusable bags.
The Town of Pagosa Springs has partnered with the Pagosa Springs Arts Council to hold a design contest, bring some flair to shopping, and recognize a local artist. The submission criteria are simple:
– Apply by Tuesday, April 4.
– Submit your design(s) to [email protected].
– Submit an original design with or without a tagline.
– The artwork must fit on a standard-sized reusable grocery bag. It may also be used in future marketing material that educates the community and retailers about the bag fee law.
